Patient Care Technicians perform a variety of essential duties to support physicians, patients, and their families. Patient Care Technician Responsibilities:
Provide Basic Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, feeding, catheter care, and other personal needs.
Support Mental Health Needs: Offer basic emotional and behavioral support for patients experiencing mental health challenges.
Assist with Medication Administration: Help patients with prescribed medications and monitor their vital signs regularly.
Collect Diagnostic Specimens: Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, gather lab samples, and collect other necessary diagnostic specimens.
Emotional Support: Coordinate emotional support services for patients and their families, especially during times of grief and transition.
Documentation Assistance: Facilitate patient care documentation and update facility notes under the supervision and direction of physicians.

The Nationally Registered Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) credential signifies that you have the knowledge and hands-on skills to prepare the patient for basic needs, nutrition, mental health; communicate with facilities, families and doctors, proper care with excellent professionalism. To obtain your National Credentials, you must: Pass the certification exam with a minimum score of 70%
